Make more of a difference as a VSO volunteer
For most families in Britain the arrival of a new baby is one of the most exciting and happiest times in their life.
In total Alice trained over 420 student midwifes and child-health nurses who went on to work all over the country, making childbirth safe for mothers and babies. In time the midwives Alice trained will go on to train other midwifes, who in turn will train others, and Alice’s teaching will continue to multiply. It’s an incredible achievement, both for Alice and the people she worked with.
VSO volunteers are changing this by working with local people and strengthening the healthcare of communities. You could be part of this and leave behind an incredible legacy that will continue to save lives long into the future.
VSO are looking for experienced midwifes to volunteer in Asia, Africa and the Pacific to pick up where people like Alice left off to make a real difference.
